OMCZ

Hey!

This time on Outside My Comfort Zone, it was Emma's turn to set the theme...

'In light of the recent heatwave I'd like my theme to be

'Bohemian Babe'
Big glasses, boho hair, maxi dresses or fringed clothes or accessories, floral head gear, you get the drift..
Release your inner bohemian babe....
Em xx'

And here is my outfit I put together....

 Top - New Look (old)
Skirt - George @ Asda (old)

When I saw the theme was 'Bohemian Babe', I automatically thought of a hippie-style outfit. I picture flowers, guitars, green peace and love man! So I went for a floaty skirt and gypsy style top, and teamed it with good old flip flops, some peace symbol earrings, a flower headband and my big glasses. I did my hair in plaits too :)

I loved Emma's theme, it was just a shame the weather has taken a turn for the worse today!! But I am hopeful it will return, especially for Thursday as we are off to Hastings!

Creamy Chicken with garlic and herbs

Hey there!

Last week, I was wandering around Asda looking for something to have for dinner, and having no idea what to do.....even though I was in a supermarket and could have got anything!!!! And something caught my eye.

I had seen this advertised on the TV and thought it looked nice, and when I saw it on offer for £1, I thought we should give it a try. I just cooked some chicken in the oven, then cut it up into chunks and put them into a frying pan.

Then I squeezed in the packet of sauce and heated it through on low until the sauce thickened.

It was smelling so amazing at this point! I then just cooked a couple of jacket potatoes and some green beans, and dinner was ready!

I was so eager to try, I started eating and realised I hadn't taken a picture of the finished product, so excuse the half-eaten potato! But I have to say, it was really nice! I am a massive fan of garlic and herb, well, ANYTHING! So I loved it.

The cooking sauce also comes in a mushroom flavour which I plan to try next time, although I may be tempted just to get this one again as I really liked it!

Dresses wishlist

Hey there.

I was having a peruse on the Lovedrobe website, and I fell in love with so many dresses! I have narrowed my wish list down to 5 - it is my birthday in August, so I'm hoping for some money to buy a couple :) They have a lot in their sale at the moment, and here is my top 5.

1. Koko Floral Print Collar Detail Dress £28
As soon as I saw, I fell in love with it :) I love the style, the collar, the pattern, everything!

2. Lovedrobe Animal Print Wrap Dress £25
I love the colours in this dress, and it looks like it would be a good length on me.

3. Koko Black Pleated Crochet Collar Dress £28
This is a lovely pretty dress, with a gorgeous crochet collar.

4. Lovedrobe Block Colour Dress With Pleat Detail £15
I love the length of the sleeves on this dress, and will be great for parties in the Autumn.

5. Lovedrobe Multi Colour and Width Sailor Stripe Dress £22
I really like the colours in this dress and I love the shape of the neckline and sleeves.

Maybe I'll treat myself to at least one of these for my birthday :) Hope you are having a good weekend.

Five Question Friday - Mel

Hey!
It's my favourite day of the week! Not only is it nearly the weekend, but I get to ask questions to some of my favourite bloggers, and share them with you all! This week, I was pleased to be able to have a chat with Mel @  The Plus Size Life of a Bumblebee.

1. Which celebrity style do you admire the most?
Beth Ditto … I mean, it's not really my style, but she wear what she want and embrace her awesomeness. That's why I love it. And than Adele. She wears so beautiful and elegant dresses.

2. What is your favourite accessory?
My wedding ring. ;)

3. What was the last piece of clothing you bought?
Not only one. Three dresses and a boyfriend jeans at the ASOS sale.
7
4. Lip gloss or Lipstick?
Lipstick.

5. What is your favourite film and why?
This is hard, because I love so many movies. When I must make a decision, I would take … let me over think it … "Dark Harbor". I love Alan Rickman so much, and I love movies with an unexpected end. This combined results in a great movie.

I love Alan Rickman too! He has that sexy moody guy thing going on :) A big thanks to Mel for taking time to answer my questions, and if you haven't checked out her blog, go and do it! She has posts on a wide variety of subjects, and she is so interesting!

See you next week for another blogger!

Weekend OOTD

Hey guys

Last weekend, we popped into visit Mike's nan Joan in her home. We hadn't seen her in what felt like ages! So we stopped by Mike's parent's to pick up his mum, then we drove round to her new home. It was lovely to see her, and she really enjoyed seeing the children too :)
In the morning, the weather wasn't looking great, so I opted for leggings and here is what I wore...

Top - ASOS Curve
Leggings - Simply Be
Flip flops - Primark

I really love this top from ASOS, it goes with everything, and it is soooo comfy! And the leggings are not only colourful, but really comfy too :) I put a vest top underneath just in case it did get hot...

Excuse my hair, I tried to do a fishtail braid, and with my long and thick hair, I got bored half way down lol!!

Hope you lovely people are enjoying the weather, and I will be back tomorrow with another FQF :) fun times!!

Five Question Friday - Georgina

Hey there!

This week on Five Question Friday, I got to ask some questions to the beautiful Georgina @ FullerFigureFullerBust :)

1. What is the one essential item in your wardrobe you couldn't live without?
I'd have to say my shapewear. I don't always wear it, but I like to have it handy as it smooths me out when I wear fitted dresses and makes me feel a lot happier and more confident.

2. What are your go-to shoes for a night out?
I usually wear some fairly low vintage style heels that go with everything and let my feet last the whole night.

3. What is on your clothing wish list at the moment?
I've just got back from an amazing trip to Milan where I was privileged to work with Marina Rinaldi. I'd never tried one of their dresses before, and now I have I want them all! They have a 'curvaceous' range that fits like it was tailored for me and I'd love to own more pieces.

4. What is your favourite fragrance?
I'm a simple girl and I like 'LOVE' by The Body Shop. It's very clean and fresh smelling.

5. Describe your ultimate dinner party - who would you invite and what would be on the menu?
Ooh that's hard! My time in Milan was pretty much that! Some amazing bloggers from around the world eating some yummy Italian food! I'd have liked my boyfriend to be there too and it would have been perfect!

Sounds like you had a great time in Milan....jealous much! A big and busty thank you to Georgina for taking part and answering my questions. If you haven't already, check out her blog at FullerFigureFullerBust.....she is amazing!

OMCZ

Hey!

Today I am bringing you my first post in the Outside My Comfort Zone challenge. A few weeks ago, Steph @ Seeing Spots put out a tweet asking if any other bloggers wanted to take part in this on-going challenge, and I couldn't wait to join in!

Due Date - Wednesday 17th July
Challenge - Breaking fashion rules

The challenge theme was picked this time by the gorgeous Becky :) I did take me a while to think of how I could interpret this theme, but in the end, I decided on this little outfit....

Blouse - Swanley Market
Vest - George @ Asda
Skirt - Inspire from ASOS

Here I have gone for wearing two different, and clashing patterned items. I can always remember being told not to wear two different patterns, but I quite liked it! I wore this out today, just to do the school runs, and I had no issue with it!

A good first challenge to get me into it....let's see what challenge we have next time!

Check out the other lovely ladies taking part in this challenge, and see how they have done with this weeks theme :)

Picking me up...

Hey there

Today has been a bit pants. I woke up and knew I was going to have a pants day.....I felt so crap, don't know why, but it happens sometimes. I have my social worker coming this afternoon, and I always feel so pressured when she visits to have the house spotless and tidy, and do you know what, I can't be bothered today! No one else's house looks immaculate with two messy kids and an even messier husband! Even more so as we had some family and friends over yesterday to attack the monster that is our garden. So doing housework and making the place spotless is the last thing on my mind today!

Then, for a break from a small bit of tidying, I thought I would just check my emails and post on my little blog for the day......and there it was...... 20 followers! Now, I know that is not very many, but to me, that is great! I have been waiting for that number for ages now! And it made me smile :) On a crap day like today, it just gave me some kind of hope I guess. So, once the social worker is gone, and I can relax, I can turn my attention to a giveaway :) Ever since I got to 10 followers, I promised myself that I would do a giveaway at 20 just to show those lovely people who read my blog how much I appreciate them reading my blog.

There was part of me that thought this day would never come, but now it's here, I'm quite excited. I shall be putting together a giveaway over the next week, and I will let you know when I am ready to start it :)

Thank you all so much for reading my blog, whether it be just once, or every post. The reason I started this little blog was to chat to amazing people and just be able to chat about things I like :) Have a good day, and I'll try to be less blah!

Five Question Friday - Nikki

Hey!

On this week's Five Question Friday, I have asked some questions to the lovely Nikki @ Natty Nikki. She is one of my favourite bloggers and I really can't wait to meet her :-)

1.  How would you describe your style?
I have quite an eclectic taste in clothes as I will wear anything from a crop top to a bodycon dress!! So I guess my style is a little bit of everything!!

2. What beauty products can't you live without?

I can't live without foundation, I am not the best with make up but recently invested in some really good No 7 foundation and a decent brush with which to apply it and it makes such a difference to how my skin looks.

3. If you could give one piece of style advice, what would it be?
My best style advice is to always wear what you feel good in, and tear up the fashion rules if you like something then wear it. ( and good fitting underwear is a must!!)

4.  What 3 items are on your clothing wish list at the moment?
I really want a new bra as I need to go and get fitted again, a new bodycon dress and some bright wedges for the summer.

5.  What is your favourite TV programme/series and why?
I think it has to be The West Wing, its like a security blanket as whenever I feel ill or fed up I watch it and I also love Bradley Whitford as well!

I have to say I have never watched West Wing..... A big thanks to Nikki for taking the time to answer my questions, and for giving some great answers, and pictures! She looks fab in both the crop top and bodycon dresses! Love her! If you haven't already, check out her blog Natty Nikki, she is great :)

Damart Necklace

Hey

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by someone at a company called Damart and they asked me to choose one of their new range of necklaces. So, after having a browse on their website, I picked this lovely necklace..

Round disc necklace - £13

I loved the design on the disc, which is leopard print and glitter, and I liked the look of the rope style necklace too, but I was slightly worried about the length of it as I do have quite a large neck..... But it was good!

It came in a lovely black box, with a little note and pink shredded paper.

I really like the size of the pendant, and the pattern on it is gorgeous. The rope part of the necklace is really nice and smooth, and it has a nice long extension chain, which made it a good length for me.

I have really enjoyed wearing this necklace out, and had a good few compliments on it so far :) And for £13, it's a great buy!

Christening OOTD

Well hello

On Sunday, we went to a christening for my cousin's beautiful baby girl Florence :) I don't know if I have mentioned before, but my dad is a professional photographer, but he was sadly away for the weekend working, so he left me in charge of one of his cameras to take some shots at the christening. I did my best, I hope at least some of them turn out OK!! I was also asked by my cousin and her fiancee to read a poem during the service, to which I said yes! I felt so honoured that they would ask me to do that. I was practising to make sure I didn't get it wrong!
Florence was born 3 weeks before our wedding. In fact, my wedding was the first time I had properly met the lovely little lady! She was so cute and I had to make sure I got a hold!

Anyway, we had a lovely afternoon, and Florence looked so beautiful :) The christening was in a lovely church on the river, such a beautiful setting, and then we went back to my cousin's house after for some food and drink. I wish I had taken some pictures of the gorgeous spread, especially the cute little cupcakes!
The kids had a great time as there were some garden games to play with, and they had some bubbles too!

All tired out!

I was also excited for the christening as I got to wear my Marisota Bow Print Dress I got a few weeks back :) I had been planning on wearing a dress, and I really liked this as soon as I saw it on their website. Anyway, I had been saving it for today, and was so pleased in how it looked :)

Dress - Marisota
Cardigan - George @ Asda
Belt - Marisota
Tights - Fashion World
Ballet pumps - Curvissa

I do have to point out, this was after we had been to the christening, back to my mums, packed up the car, and travelled home, so my hair wasn't at it's finest!
I really loved the dress, it was so light weight and felt really comfy! And I was so happy that my belts arrived on Saturday, I feel that it really made the dress look nice :) I never thought I'd say I looked nice in a dress!!! Progress!

Hope you are all well.

Hot Hot Weekend!

Well hello

Wow it has been hot this weekend! Now, don't get me wrong, I like the sun, but it has been unbearable! So hot and humid! But, even though the temperature was around 26-30 degrees all weekend, we did mange to get out and do some fun things :)

Shirt - George @ Asda
Shorts - FF @ Sainsburys

Dress - George @ Asda
Shrug - George @ Asda
Flip flops - Primark - but personalised by me :)

On Saturday, Mike and I headed into London for a preview event for Dea London's Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. The venue was the rooftop of their studio in Dalston and, oh my, was it hot! I met some lovely bloggers I have been dying to meet - you know who you are! - got very sun burnt, and managed to win myself a custom made coat from the new collection!

Lovely ladies - Carmen, Becky, Me, Kim, Emma

Enjoying the catwalk show

My prize - Me with designer Jelena Fehmi

The coat from Dea London's AW13 collection I am getting

After the event, we all gathered for some lunch, before all heading off home. It was lovely to chat to these ladies, and I can't wait to see them again soon!

Being a tourist on London Bridge!

Then on Sunday, the four of us headed down for the church service, but this week, instead of being in St Martin's Church as usual, we had a wonderful outdoor service at Eynsford Castle.

It is an English Heritage site that sits right behind the main high street. I have to say, it was my first time visiting the ruins, and it was beautiful! The children loved exploring the ruins and had fun with some of the other children there.

It was interesting as it was a 'Together Service' which brought together the 3 different church groups from the village, so we had a mixture of things going on. The best bit, by far, was the story that Rev. Gary told, and then it was acted out by puppets for the children to listen to! The song was brilliant and Mike and I were singing it all day!

But I think the highlight of the weekend for me was getting my gorgeous baby back from my parents on Sunday afternoon :)

As we knew we were going to be out most of the day on Saturday, we didn't want to leave Lulu at home in the heat on her own, so on Friday, after she had been poochied at the groomers, I dropped her off at my mum and dad's. We all missed her so much, and it wasn't long before she was making herself comfy laying on Mike whilst we watched the tennis. And on that note.......Well done Andy Murray!! We were so happy when he won! That last game was so scary!! It seemed to go on for ages.... But he did it!

Hope you all had a great weekend :)
