Christmas Party Dresses - Yours Clothing

I have a couple of Christmas parties to attend this year, and I am on the hunt for a new party dress. So I thought I'd have a good look through some of my favourite online shops.

I decided to firstly have a look through the Yours Clothing site and came across quite a few lovely dresses, and they are all on offer at the moment.

1. Purple and Black Flock Print Skater Dress - was £30 now £20
This one caught my eye as purple is my favourite colour. And I love the print on it!

2. Red Chiffon Dress with Silver jewelled waistband - £40 now £30
This is something that I wasn't too sure about to start with, then as I kept seeing it, the more I loved it. I really like the jewelled waistband.

3. Black Lace Embellished Trim Double Layered Shift Dress - was £40 now £35
I really loved this as soon as I saw it. I love the sleeves and the neck detail is gorgeous.

4. Black Dress with Solver Glittery Damask Print Top - was £35 now £25
I really like the style of this dress, and the lovely detail on the top half is beautiful.

5. Black and Gold Sequin Shift Dress with Cut Out Back - was £35 now £25
This is a dress that I think looks gorgeous, but not sure what it would look like on me. But it would look great at a Christmas party.

I haven't made my decision yet, still have a few more sites to look at before I do, but it never hurts to do a bit of window shopping now and again!

London Christmas Blogger Meet Up

At the end of November I spent the day in London with some lovely people celebrating the start of Christmas the best way possible.....shopping!

I headed off on the train to London just before 10am on Saturday, it was a little nippy, but not too bad considering how cold it had been throughout the week. I had a bit of a wait at Sevenoaks station due to some 'technical issues', but managed to get into Charing Cross without too much of a delay. I then dared to enter the Tube and head a couple of minutes to Leicester Square to meet up with my lovely tall friend Kim :)

We then headed to the venue for the meet up - Tiger Tiger in Haymarket. We grabbed  a cheeky coke as we were gasping from our train/tube journey's. Then we were joined by the lovely Emma who had been co-organising the event. A bit of chatting and sorting later and we had been joined by more lovely ladies. It was great to meet new bloggers, and have the chance to open our lovely gifts. We did Secret Santa and had been assigned another blogger to buy for, therefore we were given a gift by someone else. I got given a lovely gift bag with some good looking treats in :)

We all also got a goodie bag from the organisers Claire and Emma...

We got some great bits in there, along with the xmas chocolates, and a candy cane, we got a piece of jewellery, a wooden 'I love blogging' heart, face mask, bath bomb and some other little lovely bits.

After some more chatting and mince pie eating, we all left Tiger and Tiger and embarked on shopping in London. A group of 6 or us headed up Regent Street for Liberty's....

Their Christmas shop was so pretty! Lots of lights, Christmas decorations and presents. We had a little wander around, then headed back downstairs for a walk through Carnaby Street. It was so pretty!

After a stroll down Carnaby Street, we had become just three - Myself, Emma and Kim. We navigated our way to the Hummingbird Bakery in Soho, where we each picked up a little something for our journey's home. And here, we also gained another lady in the form of Leah Shafik, and the four of us headed to Nando's for some dinner.

After some more chatting and a lovely chicken burger, we all headed our separate ways, with me and Kim trying to squeeze into the tube station! It was sooo busy, but managed to get back to Charing Cross in about 20 mins. Then it was home time, and got a nice seat on the train. Then Mike picked me up from Sevenoaks and we popped back to his brother's for a little family Christmas get together. Lastly.....it was time to head home and eat our Hummingbird goodies :)

It was soooo good :)

A massive thank you to Emma and Claire for organising a great meet up.

Simply Be Gok Wan Event

Earlier this month I got the chance to attend an event hosted by Simply Be to showcase the new Gok Wan shapewear range, and meet the man himself. I couldn't turn down an offer like that! So after a looooong time deciding what to wear (thanks to Emma and Kim for their help!) and a short train journey, I was in Trafalgar Square and heading to the hotel.

1. Make up and dressed and waiting for the in-laws to arrive to babysit.

2. My lovely Simply Be clutch for the night.

3. Delays and then I miss my train to London by like 10 seconds.

4. One of the gorgeous pieces from the collection.

5. Me and the designer himself....Gok Wan!

6. loved the mirrors in the hotel room :)

7. Me and the gorgeous Emma from Meet the Millards.

8. Bathroom outfit photo!

9. Me and the lovely Joanna from Just Joanna.

I had such a lovely evening chatting to some lovely ladies, drinking some nice cocktails and some mouth watering canapes. And not to mention getting to meet Gok Wan. He was really nice and did a sweep around the room to say hello to everyone, the he chatted to people. I had a lovely time chatting to Joanna from Just Joanna, and meeting Nicole from The Life Of A Beauty Addict. Nicole and her friend were really nice and we had a nice chat, and then realised that she lives in the next village along from our old house! And the village were we got married in :) Small world!

Anyway, I had a fab evening, very different from my usual Wednesday nights with the kids!

Check out the Gok Wan collection here.

ASOS Curve Fit Day

Earlier this month I was lucky enough to be invited to the ASOS head office in London for their Curve Fit Day. I had been so excited about going, but also nervous as I didn't know anyone else that was going to be there. But as soon as I signed in at reception, two ladies caught my eye waiting and I went over to say hi. We were then joined by a few more ladies as the minutes went past, and then we were all escorted up to the room where we would be trying on some fabulous clothes.

We were joined quite quickly by the Curve team and their model Eva, who they use to try the clothes on normally. She was so lovely and funny, and seemed to love doing her job. So, pretty much straight away, we were measured up by Steph, given our 'ASOS Size' according to their sizing chart, and away we went!

My clothes pile!

We started off trying on some lovely dresses, including an evening dress and couple of skater dresses which I loved! - I own 2 of their skater dresses already. The team really took on board all of our opinions and asked us lots of questions about the fit, style and what we thought about each product. We were all different sizes and heights, so we covered the majority of sizes under the Curve label. We all spoke frankly and honestly, loving some pieces, but very much disliking others! I had the chance to try on my first bodycon dress, and what was also my last! I just didn't like the feel of it, or how I looked in it. But, it was an experience!

We then stopped for lunch, which was lovely and consisted of c=some yummy sandwiches and crisps. Whilst eating, we had a good chat with the team and gave our opinions on some of the trends coming out for next year, colours we like, and things we want to wear, no matter what size we are! We then got a tour around the office and got to look at some of the fashion coming out next year, got to watch some models being shot, including some lovely men..... Then we returned to the room and had some yummy cakes and treats, and started to try on some more clothes.

We tried on a few pairs of trousers, some coats and lastly, some of the ladies got to try on some swimwear which was new to the Curve range. During this, I had the chance to sit with Laura, and we had a good chat about blogging, and plus size, and just things we like! Then we got the chance to have a chat with the accessories team, and try on a few of their pieces, including some rings and belts. Then it was time for a few photos, a goodie bag and then home.....I had a 10 minute walk to the train station, then an hour train journey home.

I had such a great day, and it was topped off with some new friends, some lovely goodies, and a new understanding of one of my favourite brands. I got some great bits in my goody bag, including some sweets - mostly stolen by the kids when I got home! - some nail polishes, and the best things, a fabulous black and white scarf with Pegasus on :) I love it and have worn it most days! And lastly a Thank You card with a £25 voucher inside.

Can't wait to see what great things come from ASOS Curve next year! And I made a cheeky purchase with my voucher which I will show you soon.

Claire Richards Range @ Fashion World

Hey friends.

I love the Claire Richards Range at Fashion World, and I was lucky enough to be given the chance to review one of the items from the range. I was so excited! It took me a while to decide on one piece that I liked the most, but in the end, I decided on this beauty :)

Tweed Prom Dress (here)

I was so happy when I took it out of the packaging :) It was really heavy, but so sparkly and pretty!

As soon as I put it on, I loved it. The style, the length, the sleeves and even the pockets! I love me a pocket!

And I especially loved the neckline on it...perfect for a statement necklace. The sleeves are a great length for me, and I really like the fluting at the end. It gives the arms a lovely shape.

There is a silky band that goes under the bust which gives me a great shape :)

And here I am in it all dressed up for an event....

I wore this out for my friend's birthday a few weeks ago and I got so many compliments! The length is great on me. It is supposed to be below the knee, but on me it is just above, but that is good for me! The material is black with metallic threading through it which gives it a great sparkle! The pockets come in handy for a night one so I don't have to carry a bag when I'm getting my groove on! It was also very warm, which will be great in the winter on nights out, so no need to take a coat :)

You can see the full Claire Richards range here.

Bad times

Hey friends.

I just wanted to apologise for the lack of, well pretty much anything over the last week. I have been feeling really ill, like flu ill :( So I've been trying to rest around sorting the kids out as it's half term. I'm feeling a little better in myself, but my throat is killing me, and now I have a chesty cough...I'm hoping it goes by Wednesday! I've got an event to attend, and I'm not missing it for anything!

So, this post was just to apologise for not posting much in a while, I have just not had the energy to put clothes on and take pictures, and let alone look at least half decent in the pictures!

So I am hoping normal service will resume by the end of the week! In the mean time, here is my dog in her Halloween outfit to make you smile :)

See you soon!
