Tights - Marisota review

Well hello
Last month I was contacted by the lovely people at Marisota to review something from their brand. I was happy to oblige. I had a good look on their site at the amazing tops, skirts and dresses, and it made me realise, I don't have any tights!!
The last few times I can remember buying tights (quite a while ago now) I was very unsuccessful. This is mainly because.....
I am a dress size 24/26 AND 6"1 tall.
Every time I bought tights 'my size' they would never be long enough, and the crotch on them, no matter how much i pulled them up my legs, would be around the middle of my thighs. Even wearing a pair of knickers over the top to hold them up would be pointless! So when I was looking at some lovely dresses on the Marisota website, I noticed the models wearing tights, and thought 'That's what I need!'

So I ordered them in a size 20-26, which was a little hopeful. When they arrived, I was so excited to try them. I was so pleased with the quality of them, they were lovely and thick, but not in a woolly way. They were so smooth and easy to put on. Now this size fitted me better than any other tights I had bought before, but unfortunately, they were just slightly too small. Damn my freakishly long legs!!

I contacted the lovely lady who sent me to let her know the issue, and she was so good and sent me out the next size up (28-32) the next day :)

And they were the same quality and feel as the first pair.....but they fit!! They were long enough to fit my long legs :) I couldn't be happier! And I love the fact the pack contains a black pair and a slate pair. I wore the slate pair with some denim shorts (it's getting colder) last week and they are so comfy :) I am looking forward to wearing the black pair for my parent's 30th Wedding Anniversary party on the 1st June.

I am so happy that I have managed to find tights that fit my long legs! I hope you have found this review useful, and I do highly recommend these tights. They are nice and thick, but so smooth! Now to find some larger shoes!

Slightly addicted...

Well hello
Now, over the past few weeks, I have been slightly addicted to MUA products... I have bought something, every week. I love their products, and even more that they are so well priced. I started with lipsticks, and I have now bought 4 of them, 2 lip pouts, an eyeshadow palette and a few nail varnishes.

Today, I wanted to share my most recent nail varnish purchase from MUA.

This is a beautiful dusky pink shade called Ameretto Crush. I have been loving pastel colours at the moment, and this seemed like such a lovely shade of pink, not too baby pink, but also not too barbie pink. I do really love how these polishes go on. They have a great sized brush (quite small, but I like that I can get the base and sides more accurate) and 2 coats were plenty.
After I put the first coat on, I was a little worried as it seemed to not really cover very well, but then the second coat just seemed to cover really well!
I really do recommended picking up one of these MUA polishes, they have a good range, and you can't go wrong for £1!

Five Question Friday - Vicky

Well hello

Friday is here.... it has been a long week, but it's nearly the weekend! And to celebrate with a bit of Five Question Friday! It's time for me to ask some questions to the lovely
Vicky @ The Curved Opinion.

1. What is your favourite clothing shop?
My favourite clothing shop is SimplyBe. I love the wide variety of choice and styles that they have and I know that the fitting is true to size. I can always rely on them to find my next "must have" dress.

2. How would you describe your style?
My style is still evolving as I am not that far out of an all black closet. At the moment I am all about prints and you will generally find me in a dress. I am never too far away from a Mary Jane shoe.

3. What is your favourite nail polish brand and colour?
My favourite nail polishes are from Barry M and my favourite of the moment is the Red Glitter sparkly one.

4. If you had £100 to spend on any one item, what would it be?
If I had £1000 to spend I would buy a pair of Louboutins, preferably these!

5. If you could go anywhere in the world on holiday, where would it be and
who would it be with?
If I could go anywhere in the world on holiday it would be to Singapore with my best friend to watch the Formula One!

Great answers from Vicky this week! If you haven't checked out her blog The Curved Opinion, I'd highly recommend it! She has some great posts about fashion and beauty, and if you are visiting here from her blog, please take a minute to check out some of my other posts :) See you next week with some more questions with another blogger!

Being one of life's winners

Well hello
Last month, the lovely people at Lovedrobe posted a competition on Facebook they called 'Girls Night Out'

They invited people to Like and Share this picture, and then choose one you would be spotted in and how you would accessorise it. I went for this one....

I picked this one as I thought it could be dressed up for a night out, or more casual on a day out. I loved the pattern on it as they are my favourite colours, and I especially liked the length of the sleeves. I think the pattern on this is so busy that all you would need to accessorise it would be a nice clutch or pair of heels.

So I was out shopping with my mum one day when I got a notification on Facebook that Lovedrobe had mentioned me. I had no idea what was going on, and then I realised what it was. I had won the competition! I was so excited!! I haven't won anything before, and I was so happy to have won such a beautiful dress.

Lovedrobe contacted me that day and asked for my contact details and the next day, the dress was here!

I love it! Apart from my wedding dress I wore in October last year, I haven't worn a dress in years. As I have mentioned in a previous post, I have spent the majority of my adult life being ashamed of my size, not just weight but height too. But I am slowly feeling better about how I look and that I can wear what I want as long as I am comfy.
As soon as I put this on and looked in the mirror, I smiled. I felt good, and loved how I looked in the dress. I am 6"1, so it's not the longest dress on me, but I can't wait to wear it :) I really love the sleeves as they are a great length for me.

I am planning my parent's 30th Wedding Anniversary party in June, and this is what I am wearing. I can't wait!

I want to say a massive thank you to the lovely people at Lovedrobe for setting up this competition, and I planning my first purchase soon!

Brands Hatch Evening

Well hello

I love motor racing. I've been watching it since I was little. My dad used to be marshall, then he got into photography, and now that his is job! We have travelled all over the country, from our local circuit Brands Hatch, to Knockhill in Scotland. My mum and I would pack up on a Friday after school, then when my dad got home from work, we would head off. For many years we had a great big tent that we used to stay in at the circuits, but then we turned posh and got ourselves a caravan. Those weekends were some of the best in my childhood. Often my mum and dad would have foster children, and so we would all go together. I always used to love having other children to play with :)
Anyway, back to today's post..... One of the weekends we were away, mum and I got chatting to a man and his son Guy, and as we started talking, we realised we lived about 5 minutes from each other! From then on, we were friends. Mum and dad with Guy's parent's, and me with Guy. we used to hang out at the race meetings, and at home too. He has been a great friend for 15 years :) So when he said he was heading to Brands Hatch for a track afternoon in his Seat race car, we couldn't wait to see him and the car in action!

So, the weather was OK, slightly overcast, but fine. So when Mike got in from work, we headed up there (it's about 5 minutes from our house now). My mum and dad were there as dad was taking some pictures for Guy, and then Mike's parent's came along too. I had prepared some picnic food for us all - sausage rolls, chicken dippers, Pringles and some other goodies :) which we enjoyed and reminded me of the old days :)

So we had a nibble and then it was time to see Guy in action!

Then, after a lovely bit on sunshine, the rain came, and really hard! Like torrential for about 5 minutes! We all took cover in our cars and the racing was stopped. Then we got out of the car in bright sunshine again, and saw this amazing rainbow!

Apart from the spell of crazy rain, we had a great evening :) Great friends, great car action and some yummy food.

Guy runs his Seat Leon Cupra Cup car with XLR Motorsport and they have some great offers for track days and passenger rides. Please check out their website :)
